Description

US Heart and Vascular is in need of a Full-time Medical Assistant to join our team at Apex Vascular in Dannaher, TN.

Responsibilities & Duties:

  • Assists healthcare providers with patient examinations, procedures, and treatments.

  • Records patient histories, vital signs, and other pertinent information in medical records.

  • Prepares and maintains examination rooms, ensuring they are clean and well-stocked.

  • Schedules patient appointments and manages front desk operations.

  • Processes patient intake forms and insurance documentation.

  • Administers medications and injections as directed by physicians.

  • Performs basic laboratory tests and assists with sample collection.

  • Performs chart preparation as required.

  • Maintains confidentiality and adheres to HIPAA regulations.

  • Provides patient education and support, answering questions about treatments and procedures.

  • Assists in maintaining inventory of medical supplies and equipment.

  • When position requires travel to/from other locations, ensures vehicles are operated and maintained in compliance with all safety, regulatory, and company requirements.

  • Provides support to nursing staff as required.

  • Demonstrates integrity, professionalism, and respect in all interactions.

  • Follows processes and policies for the organization.

  • Reports to work as scheduled, ready to perform duties, and promptly notifies the supervisor of any attendance issues.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • A High School diploma or GED from an accredited institution.

  • One (1) year of Medical Assistant experience, or recent graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant training program with completion of program externship.

  • Current Medical Assistant certification, where required by the practice or state of employment. Where required, certification must be obtained within the timeframe established by the practice.

  • Must have experience in administration of EKGs.

  • Current valid state driver’s license and required minimum auto insurance coverage.

  • Cardiology practice experience preferred but not required
