US Heart and Vascular is in need of a Scrub Tech to join our team at APEX Vascular in Lenoir City, TN

Position Summary

Prepares instruments and supplies to perform procedures according to the physician's documented preferred routine. Prepares the operating field for procedures. Performs routine and delegated duties. The Rad Tech/ Surgical Scrub will assist the Surgeon and surgical team before, during and after surgery and will assume responsibility and accountability for the preparation of operating rooms by providing support, assistance and maintenance of instruments and equipment.

Responsibilities & Duties

  • Adheres to safety policies and procedures in performing job duties and responsibilities.
  • Communicates effectively with patients, visitors, physicians, and co-workers.
  • Performs specified functions to meet the requirements of each procedure approved.
  • Performs operating room technician functions following prescribed operating/procedure room procedures and principles of aseptic technique.
  • Correctly utilizes and cares for supplies and equipment as directed.
  • Responds in a timely manner to meet the needs of the patient and physician.
  • Maintains a safe workplace by following established safety protocols, reporting hazards, and participating in required safety training.
  • Maintains required certifications, licenses, registries and designations required for the role.
  • When position requires travel to/from other locations, ensures vehicles are operated and maintained in compliance with all safety, regulatory, and company requirements.
  • Fosters a team-oriented environment by encouraging cooperation, providing support, and resolving conflicts constructively.
  • Demonstrates integrity, professionalism, and respect in all interactions.
  • Follows processes and policies for the organization.
  • Reports to work as scheduled, ready to perform duties, and promptly notifies the supervisor of any attendance issues

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required

  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local laws, statutes, regulations, codes, and standards related to the area of responsibility.
  • Knowledge of the principles, concepts, and theories relevant to the assigned functional area
  • Ability to work independently, and as a team, to complete daily activities according to the work schedule.
  • Working knowledge of Office 365 programs such as Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, etc.
  • Working knowledge of EMR systems.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED from accredited institution.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • If the individual in the role will drive for work purposes, a current valid state driver's license and required minimum auto insurance coverage.
  • Cardiology practice experience is preferred but not required.
