Full Time Cardiovascular Sonographer | Memorial Cardiology Associates
Memorial Cardiology Associates is in search of a Full Time Dual Cardiovascular Sonographer to join our team in Houston, TX.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Provides excellent patient care, acting with professionalism and empathy at all times
- Experienced and fully competent sonographer performing a variety of complex studies in outpatient setting including Echo, Carotid, Abdominal, Atrial Doppler, Venous Duplex.
- Perform vascular studies.
- Must be able to perform studies and create accurate, preliminary reporting for physician interpretations that is compliant with ASE current guidelines.
- Provides patient care in a timely manner, communicates with physician team, and works efficiently as a team member
- Preforms a variety of tasks and works under general supervision and inter-departmental collaboration daily
- Ability to locate, evaluate, and record pertinent anatomical, pathological and functional date while using different systems of ultrasound equipment
- Helps maintain quality control of sonographic equipment
- Adhere to guidelines for sterilizing and cleaning of all equipment
- View images and adjust parameters to achieve high quality diagnostic imaging
- Performs studies that are compliant with both the IAC accreditation standards as well as the MCA lab specific policies and procedures
- Successfully complete in person device/application specific training
- Safeguard the privacy of patient health information
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Must have excellent interpersonal and critical thinking skills
- Ability to prepare for procedures including moving patients
- Decisive judgement and ability to work in a high volume cardiac and vascular practice with 16 physicians
- Perform quality, efficient scanning and should be an equal contributor to the daily volume
- Create preliminary reports based of study findings and have a working, up-to-date knowledge of ASE guidelines and integrate into work completed
Minimum Requirements
- Active credentials by either ARDMS or CCI
- BLS/CPR Certification
Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience
- This position is not suitable for a new graduate.
- Work well in a team environment
- Maintain the required credentials for certification
- Experience using GE Vivid equipment and Echo PACS is preferred.
Hours of Work: Monday – Friday/No nights or weekends. The position requires travel to three office locations in Houston. (Mileage reimbursement is available)
