US Heart and Vascular is in need of a Patient Growth Director to join our team.

Position SummaryThe Director of Patient Growth is responsible for leading and scaling referral-driven and community-led patient growth strategies across the US Heart & Vascular (USHV) portfolio. This leader partners with Regional Presidents and market leadership teams to assess regional business development needs, design market-specific growth plans, and drive measurable new patient volume across practices.

This role elevates traditional referral development into a data-informed, portfolio-wide growth function. The Director will guide regional business development leaders, standardize best practices, and ensure alignment with USHV’s growth, physician recruitment, and brand strategies.

The objective of this role is to drive sustainable, incremental B2B patient growth across markets while strengthening USHV’s brand presence and physician relationships.

Primary Responsibilities & Duties

1. Market Assessment & Growth Strategy Leadership

  • Conduct in-market assessments to evaluate referral dynamics, competitive landscape, community engagement gaps, and growth opportunities (first 90–120 days).
  • Partner with Regional Presidents to align on regional growth priorities and support hiring/onboarding of Market Directors, Managers or Coordinators of Business Development.
  • Design and implement scalable patient growth playbooks adaptable across USHV markets.
  • Develop market-specific growth plans integrating referral development, community outreach, service line expansion, and physician alignment.
  • Partner with Marketing, Strategy, and Operations to define KPIs and volume growth targets.
  • Identify risks to growth execution and escalate mitigation strategies proactively.

2. Referral Network Development & Community Engagement

  • Lead data-driven referral growth strategy using tools such as HubSpot, Trilliant, and Teragonia.
  • Establish standards for strategic market call plans and high-value referral targeting.
  • Partner with Physician Recruiting and Marketing to create structured new provider ramp-up and amplification plans.
  • Guide market strategy and budgeting for community-based growth initiatives including employer partnerships, screenings, and local engagement.
  • Ensure consistent documentation, tracking, and follow-up of referral engagement activities across markets.

3. Performance Measurement & Analytics

  • Define and monitor KPIs including new patient growth, referral expansion, market share shifts, and service line growth.
  • Partner with Finance and Analytics to build dashboards measuring field effectiveness and ROI.
  • Translate business objectives into data-informed outreach and marketing strategies with clear business cases.
  • Continuously evaluate performance and adjust tactics to maximize growth outcomes.

4. Cross-Functional Collaboration & Operational Alignment

  • Serve as primary liaison between field growth efforts, strategy and operational leadership.
  • Communicate access, scheduling, or service barriers impacting referral growth and brand perception.
  • Collaborate with Marketing on outreach assets, messaging, physician positioning, and campaign alignment.
  • Partner with operations to ensure access and patient experience align with growth objectives.
  • Contribute to portfolio-wide growth frameworks and best practices.

5. Leadership & Capability DevelopmentCoach and mentor Market Directors/Managers of Business Development.

  • Standardize tools, reporting, and engagement frameworks across markets.
  • Lead development of outreach and marketing assets supporting clinic-level growth.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, adaptability, and provider-centric growth.
  • Encourage continuous professional development across growth teams.

Qualifications

Education:
Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.

Experience:

  • 8+ years progressive experience in provider relations, business development, or healthcare growth leadership.
  • Experience leading multi-market or regional growth strategies preferred.
  • Demonstrated success driving measurable patient volume growth.
  • Experience managing or mentoring field-based growth teams.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Strong command of CRM and growth analytics platforms including HubSpot, Trilliant, and Teragonia.
  • Ability to design scalable growth playbooks and localized market strategies.
  • Deep understanding of physician referral dynamics and healthcare market development.
  • Ability to translate business objectives into data-driven growth initiatives.
  • Strong business acumen and ability to build compelling investment cases.
  • Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills across physicians, executives, and community stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capability.
  • Ability to travel regularly across assigned markets.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Word).

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • 7+ years relevant experience in healthcare growth, provider relations, or business development.
  • Valid driver’s license and required auto insurance if claiming mileage reimbursement.
