Description

US Heart and Vascular is in need of a Revenue Cycle Management Manager to join our team at Fort Worth Heart in Fort Worth, TX.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the end-to-end revenue cycle process for the practice, from patient intake to final payment.
  • Ensure accurate and timely charge capture, coding, billing, and collections in alignment with cardiology-specific requirements.
  • Monitor and manage billing workflows, addressing issues with claims denials, rejections, and underpayments.
  • Ensure compliance with all payer guidelines, Medicare/Medicaid regulations, and cardiology-specific coding standards.
  • Utilize Athena EHR to its full capabilities for accurate patient data entry, coding, billing, and payment posting.
  • Ensure the system is configured to support optimal revenue cycle processes, including charge capture, claim submission, and reporting.
  • Organize training and ongoing education for staff to ensure adherence to industry best practices and changes in cardiology billing codes, payer rules, and regulatory guidelines.
  • Generate and analyze key financial reports to assess revenue cycle performance, including aging reports, payment trends, and collection metrics.
  • Collaborate with management to develop strategies for reducing accounts receivable (AR) and improving collection rates.
  • Assist with budget preparation and forecasting by providing accurate financial data.
  • Ensure the practice is fully compliant with all federal, state, and payer regulations, particularly those specific to cardiology billing and coding.
  • Conduct regular audits of billing and coding practices to identify areas for improvement and ensure accuracy in claims submission.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of changes in insurance policies, reimbursement rates, and cardiology coding guidelines.
  • Address patient inquiries regarding insurance, billing, and payment issues in a professional and timely manner.
  • Assist with resolution of patient billing disputes and payment issues to maintain positive patient relations.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Healthcare Management, or a related field preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience in revenue cycle management, with a focus on cardiology or similar specialties.
  • Strong knowledge of medical billing, coding, and insurance processes, including CPT, ICD-10, and cardiology-specific codes.
  • Proficiency in Athena EHR and Athena Revenue Cycle Management tools.
  • Experience with payer contracts, fee schedules, and Medicare/Medicaid regulations.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to coach and mentor staff.
  • CPC, CPB, or similar certification preferred (or willing to obtain).
