Role Description
This mission-driven individual supports the creation of transformative investments in healthcare services companies. The individual would be a core member of Rubicon’s investment team where they would be involved across the full lifecycle, from market mapping and thesis development to diligence, transaction execution, and portfolio company support, from conception to exit. The role offers significant exposure to senior investment professionals, management teams, intermediaries, and portfolio company leaders. Additional responsibility to conceptualize and build de novo businesses and seek investable opportunities with large companies and spinouts.

Responsibilities
- Evaluate new investment opportunities across healthcare services, including de novo company creation, controlled buyouts, platform investments, growth investments, and add-on acquisitions.
- Develop research-driven investment theses by mapping healthcare sub-sectors, assessing market structure and reimbursement dynamics, mapping competitive landscapes, and forming a view on where Rubicon can build differentiated value.
- Conduct investment analysis, including financial modeling, valuation, unit economics, cohort analysis, customer and revenue quality, market sizing, competitive positioning, and assessment of key business drivers.
- Synthesize incomplete or conflicting information, identify the most important diligence questions, pressure-test assumptions, and assess fit with Rubicon's investment criteria.
- Support due diligence processes, including market, commercial, financial, regulatory, and reimbursement workstreams, including internal analyses, third-party diligence coordination, data room review, diligence trackers, and summaries of key findings.
- Create clear and persuasive investment materials, including investment committee memos, market maps, company profiles, diligence summaries, and internal discussion materials.
- Contribute to sourcing and origination through thematic outreach, banker coverage, company research, conference preparation, and proactive identification of attractive investment opportunities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or a related field.
- 2-4 years of relevant experience at an investment bank, or private equity firm, with deep knowledge of the US healthcare landscape.
- Experience executing and independently managing deals within middle-market Private Equity.
- Strong understanding of corporate finance, capital markets, accounting, and M&A finance fundamentals; experienced in financial modeling and valuation.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills; ability to work in fast-paced entrepreneurial environment.
