Role Description

Rubicon’s accounting department, comprising our CFO, Controller, and two accounting managers, is excited to add to the growing team. This role would primarily support the firm’s management company account manager to perform financial analysis, build an automated payables solution, and be involved in ad hoc special projects. Key duties include internalizing the accounts payable function, managing month-end close, reconciling balance sheets, and providing clerical support. Success in this role requires thriving in a fast-paced environment, ability to work autonomously, and a willingness to learn all aspects of the firm, with opportunities for higher-level responsibilities. Ideal candidates will have minimum 2-4 years of experience (industry or public plus industry), with full cycle or accounts payable experience being a plus.

Responsibilities include, but not limited to, the following:

• Support both Fund and Management company accounting teams with ad hoc requests

• Assist with monthly and quarterly internal financial statement reporting

• Monitor transactions across multiple investment concepts and all portfolio companies

• Review employee expense reports and vendor invoices for accuracy before processing

• Support preparation of budgets and forecasts

• Develop and manage an efficient in-house accounts payable process

• Identify vendor trends and inconsistencies; ensure timely vendor payments

• Monitor cash flow and manage liquidity

• Identify opportunities for improved efficiency; communicate across all levels of the organization

Qualifications

• Experience with automated financial systems including a general ledger system (Oracle, Intacct, QuickBooks Online, etc.)

• Proficient in MS Excel

• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and in a team environment

• Ability to multi-task and work to internal and external deadlines

• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail with high degree of accuracy

• Effective oral and written communication and interpersonal skills

• Strong team player, highly motivated, wants to grow in their next role, and collaborative

• Comfortable with responsibility, autonomy, and change
