Why This Role Exists

NRG Oncology trials answer questions that change how cancer is treated. When those trials run in a community practice, patients can join them close to home, with the oncologist they already know and trust. Profound is growing its oncology research, and NRG studies are an important part of that work.

This role is for a coordinator who already knows who cooperative group research runs. You’ll be the lead coordinator for NRG studies across our Sterling Heights and Farmington Hills sites in Michigan, working directly with our investigators and partner oncology practices. You’ll enroll patients, keep data and safety reporting current, and follow participants through treatment and long-term follow-up. Your experience will shape how Profound runs NRG trials as the program grows. Our site network handles infrastructure, quality, and administrative operations, so you can focus on running studies well.

What You’ll Do

Run NRG Studies at Your Sites

  • Coordinate assigned NRG Oncology trials from site activation through long-term follow-up and closeout

  • Screen and enroll participants through the Oncology Patient Enrollment Network (OPEN), confirming eligibility with the investigator before registration

  • Conduct informed consent, study visits, and protocol procedures, including blood draws where needed, and process and ship research specimens per protocol

  • Track treatment timelines, required assessments, and follow-up windows across the life of each study

Keep Data and Safety Reporting Current

  • Submit case report forms in Medidata Rave on NRG timelines and resolve queries quickly

  • Grade adverse events using CTCAE and report serious adverse events through CTEP-AERS within required timeframes

  • Maintain audit-ready source documentation and regulatory records, including CTSU regulatory submissions and the Delegation of Tasks Log

  • Prepare the sites for NRG audits and internal quality reviews

Partner with the Care Team

  • Work alongside oncologists, nurses, and practice staff so research fits into each patient’s cancer care

  • Serve as the main contact for NRG, the Cancer Trials Support Unit (CTSU), and Profound’s regulatory and quality teams on assigned studies

  • Share your NRG knowledge with colleagues as our oncology program grows

What You Bring

Essential Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree with 3+ years of clinical research experience, OR Associate’s degree with 4+ years, OR High school diploma with 5+ years and at least 1 year as a Clinical Research Coordinator

  • At least 1 year of hands-on coordination of NRG Oncology trials, including legacy NSABP, RTOG, or GOG trials, with enrollment through OPEN and data submission in Rave

  • Working knowledge of the CTSU website, CTEP-AERS, and CTCAE adverse event grading

  • ACRP or SOCRA certification, or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire

  • Strong documentation habits and comfort managing studies with long follow-up periods and strict reporting timelines

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with other NCI cooperative group trials, such as SWOG, Alliance, or ECOG-ACRIN

  • Background in hematology or medical oncology trials

  • Prior work in a community oncology research setting

  • Phlebotomy experience

Physical Requirements & Work Environment

  • This role is performed on-site at a clinical or office facility and requires prolonged periods of sitting, standing, or walking throughout the work environment
  • Requires the ability to communicate clearly in verbal and written forms and to read and interpret detailed materials
