EXPERIENCE: The ideal candidate will have 1 to 3 years of experience in data analytics, preferably in a healthcare environment. Strong experience working with business stakeholders to understand data reporting and analytics needs and delivering insights via dashboards and ad hoc reports. Experience translating raw data from application databases into operational and / or financial reporting insights. Strong SQL skills are a requirement and experience with other common data analytics tools is preferred (e.g. Fivetran, Snowflake, dbt, PowerBI, etc.). Basic understanding of AWS cloud hosting platform is a plus.

EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience).

Must demonstrate the ability to prioritize tasks, work productively in a fast-paced setting, and possess strong critical thinking and organizational skills. Preference is for candidates who will take initiative and go above and beyond responsibilities.

INTERPERSONAL / COMMUNICATION SKILLS: Ability to effectively present information in one-on‐one and small group situations to employees of the organization and vendor partners. Able to work in a team‐oriented environment. Must exhibit excellent verbal and written communication skills and maintain a flexible, positive attitude. Position requires daily communication with end users including clinical staff, administrative staff, and vendor partners. Ability to read and interpret documents and data sets.

TECHNICAL SKILLS:

  • Strong SQL capabilities and familiarity with common relational databases and cloud-based data warehouse applications (e.g. SQL Server, Snowflake, etc.).
  • Experience with cloud-based ETL tools (e.g. Fivetran).
  • Experience with common analytics dashboard applications (e.g. PowerBI, Tableau, etc.)
  • Experience with dbt to manage automated data pipelines and testing is a plus.
  • Familiarity with cloud hosting platforms (e.g. Azure, AWS, GCP).
  • Experience with managing data sets and data pipelines, including best practices for data quality and integrity.

POSITION OVERVIEW: We are seeking an entrepreneurial and proactive Data Analyst to join our healthcare technology team. This role is critical to ensure the company continues to scale while having visibility and understanding of key metrics and trends across the enterprise. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data analytics, an understanding of healthcare environment, excellent troubleshooting skills, and the ability to work cross-functionally to understand the needs of business stakeholders.

POSITION REPORTS TO: Fractional CIO

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Partner with business stakeholders and senior leadership to identify reporting needs and proactively deliver actionable insights.
  • Receive reporting, analytics, and dashboard requests from business stakeholders and develop automated processes for delivery, including developing SQL queries and building dashboards.
  • Develop and maintain dashboards, reports, presentations, and visualizations to support clinical and business stakeholders.
  • Regularly monitor key reports, dashboards, KPIs, and data pipeline logs to ensure ongoing data accuracy and integrity.
  • Develop scalable and automated data pipelines using dbt following best practices, including DRY, automated testing, and documentation.
  • Conduct periodic reviews of overall data warehouse architecture and implement improvements to ensure continued scalability and data quality.
  • Ensure appropriate documentation of data operations, including data definitions, processes, and reporting standards.
  • Support ad hoc data requests and contribute to ongoing data improvement initiatives.
  • Assist the IT group with broader special IT projects on as needed basis.
  • Provide support between Horizon IT and vendor partners for complex issues.

  • Responsible for complying with all federal, state, and local rules and regulations.
  • Report any observation of fraud, waste, abuse, and/or privacy violations to HR or CCO.
