Your Role

The Senior Data Platform Engineer is responsible for the administration, optimization, and governance of enterprise data platforms, with a focus on ensuring high data quality, reliable master data management, and efficient platform operations. This role provides hands-on ownership of the Snowflake environment and the Ataccama Master Data Management (MDM) and Data Quality platforms, supporting scalable, secure, and well-governed data solutions.

The position bridges data engineering, data governance, and platform operations, including responsibility for managing code deployments and release processes across environments. This individual partners closely with business stakeholders, data engineers, and analytics teams to ensure data is accurate, trusted, and delivered efficiently.

Primary Functions of the Sr. Data Platform Engineer Include:

  • Snowflake Administration & Data Platform Management

  • Administer and optimize the Snowflake environment (user roles, access control, warehouse sizing, cost monitoring)

  • Monitor performance, query efficiency, and storage usage

  • Implement best practices for data security, governance, and scalability

  • Support and maintain reliability of data pipelines and platform operations

  • Master Data Management (MDM)

  • Administer and support the Ataccama MDM platform

  • Define, manage, and govern master data domains (patient, provider, etc.)

  • Maintain match/merge rules, hierarchies, and survivorship logic

  • Partner with business stakeholders to ensure alignment on golden records

  • Code Deployment & Release Management

  • Manage and execute code deployments across data platforms (Snowflake, MDM/DQ environments, etc.)

  • Maintain version control and deployment pipelines

  • Ensure proper testing, validation, and rollback procedures are in place

  • Collaborate with engineering teams to streamline deployment processes

  • Cross-Functional & Operational Support

  • Act as a liaison between business, data engineering, and analytics teams

  • Troubleshoot platform, deployment, and data issues end-to-end

  • Support onboarding of new data sources and domains

  • Document processes, standards, and platform configurations

How You Qualify

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related discipline.

  • 7+ years of experience in data platform management, data engineering, and/or data governance roles, or equivalent combination of education and extensive experience (12+ years)

  • Experience administering Snowflake (security, performance tuning, cost management)

  • Experience working with Ataccama or other similar MDM/DQ platforms

  • Strong SQL skills and data modeling concepts

  • Experience implementing and monitoring data quality frameworks and rules

  • Familiarity with data governance principles, metadata management, and stewardship practices

  • Experience managing code deployments or promoting changes across environments (DEV, UAT, PROD)

The base pay range for this role is $129,700.00 - $154,350.00. Compensation takes into account several factors including but not limited to a candidate’s experience, education, skills, licensure and certifications, and organizational needs. Base pay is just one piece of the total rewards program offered by Honest. Eligible roles also qualify for short-term incentives and a comprehensive benefits package.
