Your Role
The Director, Internal Communication & Engagement will play a critical role in shaping and executing strategies that foster a positive organizational culture, drive meaningful connections across our organization, and enhance transparent communication. In this role you will be responsible for leading and implementing communication and engagement strategies ensuring team members are informed, motivated, and connected.
Primary Functions of the Director, Internal Communication & Engagement Include:
Create a team member engagement and communication strategy; execute the strategy, assess effectiveness of programming and approach, and provide and implement improvement recommendations ongoing.
Manage the organization’s communication calendar; Draft and deliver newsletters, company announcements, holiday messages, and other internal communications on brand to engage and connect our team members with timely and relevant information; ensure communication materials and initiatives reflect diverse perspectives and experiences and are accessible to all team members.
Design visually compelling communications using tools like Canva and collaborate with key stakeholders to align messaging to enhance the team member experience.
Manage Honest’s intranet; collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure messaging, tools, and resources are relevant and current, driving adoption of a self-service model.
Design and implement team member engagement initiatives, programs, and activities to foster a positive work environment, enhance employee morale, and promote a sense of belonging and connection.
Lead and manage the Culture Committee to incorporate team-member led engagement experiences and activities.
Lead the annual team member engagement survey process to include communications, survey design, survey administration, and action plans; support leaders and teams in the creation and execution of local engagement plans.
Plan and execute large events, such as town halls, end-of-year celebrations, and other team-building activities, ensuring successful outcomes.
Design and implement reputation management initiatives to shape a positive external perception of the company.
Manage reward and recognition programs to celebrate team member achievements and foster a culture of appreciation.
Co-lead the creation of a talent lifecycle survey strategy; execute the strategy, assess effectiveness of feedback loops, and provide recommendations ongoing.
Design and implement community giving initiatives and activities in alignment with Honest’s values.
Collect and analyze data from events, engagement activities, stay/exit interviews, etc. distilling key trends and actionable insights to inform decisions and drive meaningful improvements.
Perform other related responsibilities as assigned.
How You Qualify

Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Human Resources, Organizational Psychology, or Business Administration; in lieu of a degree, 4+ years of experience in internal communications, employee engagement, or corporate communications or similar may be considered
7+ years of experience in internal communications, employee engagement, or related field
Technology Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint); proficiency in design tools such as Canva and a strong eye for visual aesthetics; proficiency in internal communication software; graphic design experience preferred
Technical Skills: Strong understanding of employee communication best practices, engagement strategies, and survey methodologies
Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Project Management: Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities; project management certification a plus
Data Analytics: Solid understanding of data analysis tools with the ability to interpret and present findings effectively
Collaboration: Strong relationship-building skills with a collaborative approach to work
Adaptability: flexibility to adjust to changing priorities and work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
The base pay range for this role is $129,700.00 - $152,300.00. Compensation takes into account several factors including but not limited to a candidate’s experience, education, skills, licensure and certifications, and organizational needs. Base pay is just one piece of the total rewards program offered by Honest. Eligible roles also qualify for short-term incentives and a comprehensive benefits package.
