Your Role

As a member of the Analytics Team, the Business Intelligence Analyst will partner closely with and support central operational teams (i.e., Finance, Risk Adjustment, Quality and Care Management) as well as market analytics and leadership teams to transform complex healthcare data into tools and actionable insights. This position will perform in-depth and ad-hoc analyses that drive operational efficiencies and strategic decision-making. The Business Intelligence Analyst will collaborate across key business teams including Finance, IT, and Clinical Operations. In addition to internal deliverables, the Business Intelligence Analyst will help prepare partner-facing presentations, leveraging analytics tools and market-specific knowledge to translate data into actionable insights. The ideal candidate will have a strong ability to story-tell with data: describing cost of care drivers, diagnosing root causes, and prescribing action items for better health outcomes at lower costs.

Primary Functions of the Business Intelligence Analyst Include:

  • Support all core disciplines of Honest’s business (i.e., Medical Expense Management, Risk Adjustment/Clinical Documentation Integrity, Quality and Care Management). Specific expertise in one or more of these disciplines will be a focus depending on organizational needs.

  • Develop a deep understanding of Honest Health’s data assets and analytics product inventory as it relates to strategic decision-making, problem-solving and generation of actionable insights.

  • Serve as the core analytics partner for the assigned primary discipline(s), translating business needs and opportunities into data-informed insights and actionable, decision support tools.

  • Execute moderately complex analyses and support the development of standard dashboards, recurring reports, and data tools under the direction of Sr. and Lead Analysts.

  • Integrate and analyze data from diverse sources including electronic health records (EHRs), health information exchanges (HIEs), and claims data that are housed in Honest’s enterprise data warehouse (EDW) and/or other population health platforms.

  • Leverage expert SQL skills to extract and analyze large, complex data and transform it into informative deliverables, insights, tools, and presentations that clearly communicate trends, risks, and improvement opportunities.

  • Identify relationships in data sets, determine key fields, and independently recommend actionable insights.

  • Respond to routine and moderately complex ad hoc data requests with accuracy and timeliness, escalating higher-complexity requests when appropriate.

  • Document logic, methodology, data definitions, and workflows so outputs can be easily reviewed, audited, and reused by teammates.

  • Deliver timely, accurate responses to ad hoc requests and proactively surface root causes, trends and opportunities for optimization.

  • Serve as a strategic partner through forming and maintaining strong relationships within the Analytics team, with stakeholders across the business – from individual contributors to executive leadership.

  • Utilize strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills to develop and deliver powerful insights through the adoption of new data visualization, advanced business intelligence, and emerging AI-driven tools.

  • Act as a bridge between technical and non-technical stakeholders, ensuring clarity and understanding of data and its interpretation to support informed decision-making.

  • Exhibit exceptional reliability and follow-through, with the ability to commit to multiple concurrent deadlines and be accountable for updates and on-time delivery.

  • Participate in data quality initiatives, assisting with identifying and correcting data issues.

  • Perform other related responsibilities as assigned.
