Your Role
The Manager, HRIS will oversee the strategy, implementation, configuration, optimization, and ongoing management of our HR technology ecosystem. This role will be responsible for building and maintaining a scalable, integrated, and efficient HRIS infrastructure that supports the full team member lifecycle and aligns with organizational goals.
The Manager, HRIS will partner cross-functionally with HR, IT, Payroll, Finance, and other business stakeholders to drive system improvements, enhance data integrity, streamline HR processes, and enable data-driven decision-making. This is a strategic and hands-on leadership role, requiring deep expertise in HR systems management, process design, data governance, and project execution to support both current operations and future growth.
Primary Functions of the Manager, HRIS Include:
- Lead the strategic planning, implementation, and optimization of new HR systems, modules, and enhancements including requirements gathering, system configuration, testing, training, and deployment.
- Serve as the primary administrator and subject matter expert for all HRIS platforms, ensuring effective configuration, data integrity, and ongoing system performance.
- Evaluate and enhance the existing HR technology landscape, identifying opportunities to streamline, automate, and integrate workflows that reduce manual effort and improve the employee and user experience.
- Partner with HR, IT, Payroll, Finance, and other cross-functional teams to design and deliver integrated, scalable people systems that align with business goals.
- Develop and maintain thorough documentation for system configurations, processes, and standard operating procedures.
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve system issues, including those related to integrations with payroll, benefits, timekeeping, performance management, and applicant tracking systems.
- Design and deliver reports, dashboards, and data visualizations to provide actionable insights on workforce trends, HR metrics, and process effectiveness.
- Ensure data accuracy, compliance, and security by supporting audits, maintaining data governance standards, and adhering to internal and external regulatory requirements.
- Train, support, and serve as a resource to HR and business users on system functionality, best practices, and new enhancements.
- Stay current on HR technology trends and emerging tools to proactively recommend and implement improvements that support the company’s growth and scalability.
- May lead and develop a team of HRIS Analysts as the function grows, providing mentorship, performance management, and strategic direction.
- Perform other related responsibilities as assigned.

- High school diploma required; bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field preferred
- 5+ years of experience in HRIS administration with experience leading or supporting the implementation of HR systems
- Experience with Workday Core HCM and Payroll required
- Hands-on experience with configuration and support of multiple HR modules (e.g., core HR, performance, compensation, learning management system, applicant tracking system, time/leave, etc.)
- Strong understanding of data structures, systems integrations, and reporting tools
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally and translate technical concepts for non-technical users
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and collaborate effectively with cross-functional stakeholders
- Knowledge of data privacy, security standards, and compliance requirements related to HR data
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills
- High attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy and system integrity
- Project management experience is a plus
The base pay range for this role is $129,700.00 - $152,300.00. Compensation takes into account several factors including but not limited to a candidate’s experience, education, skills, licensure and certifications, and organizational needs. Base pay is just one piece of the total rewards program offered by Honest. Eligible roles also qualify for short-term incentives and a comprehensive benefits package.
