Your Role

As Senior Accountant, you will report to the Accounting Manager and help drive the monthly close, with timely and accurate reporting. You will communicate and collaborate with internal stakeholders to analyze and understand their functional requirements.

*Priority will be given to Nashville-based candidates. This is a hybrid position with an in-office presence Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.

Primary Functions of the Sr. Accountant include:

  • Perform general accounting duties include various components of the month-end close processes, including journal entry preparation, reconciliations, account and financial statement analysis.
  • Prepare, examine, or analyze accounting records, financial statements, or other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness, and conformance with GAAP.
  • Manage accounts payable using Stampli and other programs including ensuring bills are paid in a timely and accurate manner while adhering to departmental procedures.
  • Administer monthly process with department leaders to identify accruals and report out on departmental operating expenses.
  • Lead and participate in continuous improvement activities focusing on streamlining, improving and automating processes within the Accounting Department.
  • Crosstrain among the finance department and prepare documentation for various processes.
  • Provide audit support for external audit, including substantive and controls-related work.
  • Perform detailed analysis of daily cash activities, including posting and forecasting, to maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records. Prepare fluctuation analysis through research and compilation of explanations. Deliver clear and concise reports that highlight key drivers behind fluctuations, aiding management in making informed strategic decisions.
  • Respond to ad hoc analysis requests, providing timely and insightful information to support decision-making across the organization. Collaborate with various departments to address specific analytical needs and contribute to strategic initiatives.
  • Participate in system implementations, configurations and optimization projects.
  • Perform other related responsibilities as assigned.

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field required
  • 4+ years of public accounting and/or industry accounting and finance work experience with increasing responsibilities
  • Healthcare industry experience preferred
  • Intercompany allocations and system automation experience preferred
  • CPA license preferred or actively pursuing CPA license
  • Microsoft Excel (Pivot Table, Lookup functions, etc.)
  • Strong knowledge and experience with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)

The base pay range for this role is $84,200.00 - $96,800.00. Compensation takes into account several factors including but not limited to a candidate’s experience, education, skills, licensure and certifications, and organizational needs. Base pay is just one piece of the total rewards program offered by Honest. Eligible roles also qualify for short-term incentives and a comprehensive benefits package.
