Responsibilities

The Director - Engineering is focused on enabling our clinical and operational teams to provide high quality patient care at a national scale. We aim to support that mission via an enterprise technology system that combines the core capabilities of commercially available platforms (Salesforce CRM and Athena EHR being our two main ones) with a proprietary data/intelligence and workflow orchestration layer complemented by front-end experiences where required. The Director - Engineering position is a mission-oriented, hands-on engineering leader that works with the rest of the technology leadership team to craft a vision and strategy for our systems and build out a full stack engineering team (front-end, back-end and systems/integration engineering) and culture in support of the roadmap.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Intellectual curiosity when it comes to understanding a business, and the ability and inherent desire to make technical decisions within the larger context of company objectives.
  • Balance big-picture strategic thinking with a bias to action: hands-on leadership and nimbleness, empowering teams to execute ambitious goals while building for long-term growth.
  • Decisiveness; when making technical decisions, you carefully weigh trade-offs between functionality, quality, and technical debt, and lead the team to quickly set a path forward and execute against it
  • Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends, integrating relevant advancements into the company's technology stack.
  • Foster a culture of continuous learning and professional development, providing opportunities for team members to grow and excel in their roles.
  • Data-driven and metrics-focused: Leverages metrics in decision-making, with experience establishing feedback loops, tracking iteration speed, and enforcing accountability across projects
