YOUR ROLE
The SVP, Data is responsible for overseeing a range of data-related functions including business intelligence, data warehousing, and interoperability platform strategy and execution. This role is responsible for the governance and utilization of the data and will understand the strategy and direction of the business and how to underpin that strategy and direction with data. This person will manage a team that will be responsible for business requirements, technical requirements, data organization and structure, and creating the ability to visualize data. This person will work closely with Cybersecurity and Infrastructure to keep our data safe. In this role you will manage geographically dispersed professional staff and vendor teams tasked with the design, implementation, testing and deployment of data acquisition, mapping, harmonization. Collaborates with business & clinical operations teams to understand data sources, scope requirements, and design new data solutions using direct and matrixed teams.
PRIMARY FUNCTIONS
- Defines the vision, strategy, principles, and process that guide the purchase, design, and deployment of data platform technologies that meet the business requirements and long-term enterprise architectural goals
- Ability to translate short and long term strategic business goals into a comprehensive data management plan and roadmap
- Drives platform selection, design and implementation of enterprise data warehousing and analytics solutions in partnership with Healthcare Economics, executive, clinical, and operations stakeholders
- Oversees development of interoperability, data acquisition, data delivery patterns and data management governance
- Manages data engineering (pipeline development, source-to-target mapping, data quality assurance, referential integrity, and extracts) team
- Defines ingress/egress patterns to synchronize data between nephrology group clinical and administrative systems and Evergreen data warehousing platforms
- Collaborates with private payors and CMS to acquire claims, eligibility, and program attribution data
- Collaborates with national and regional lab vendors, registries (disease/Vx), HIEs, PBMs to acquire clinical data sets supporting Evergreen analytic requirements
- Manages vendor relationships with strategic platform technology providers
- Establishes self-service reporting capabilities to support Evergreen stakeholders and nephrology partners
- Applies technical expertise and leadership to guide teams in architecture and design decisions
- Establishes appropriate teaming structure to support multiple internal and external customers
- Resolves data issues as they arise in collaboration with internal and external data operations teams
- Exhibits effective collaboration with both technical and non-technical staff; translate business needs into technical requirements
- Define and uphold data practices, policies, and operating procedures within the department
- Ensure stakeholders have information and context needed in a timely, accurate manner to produce favorable results
- Establish measurement criteria and systems to track daily processes, implementation of new initiatives and projects
- Provides clear direction to achieve goals, creating an environment that fosters team commitment and employee engagement
- Translate initiatives into actions through a thoughtful, organized, and well-planned approach.
- Ensure that Company patients’ protected health information (PHI) is used/disclosed only in accordance with Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) standards.

- Bachelors Degree required; Masters Degree preferred
- 10 years of technology experience
- 10 years of experience working with data warehousing systems for large enterprises with both internal and customer facing portals, preferably with near real time transactional data
- 7 years of data and analytics experience within the healthcare industry
- 7 years of progressive leadership experience
- Full understanding of data domains utilized for analytics within capitated risk contract (ACO, upside/downside, global risk), medical management (UM/CM/DM), and Medicare Advantage
- Demonstrated experience with cloud-based data platforms (e.g. Databricks, Snowflake, RedShift)
- Proven track record of implementing data management best practices, methodologies, relational structures, dimensional data modelling, and data warehousing and reporting techniques.
- Comprehensive knowledge of ETL/EAI/EII, data cleansing, security and data access technologies (DPaaS), data virtualization and modern data architectures
- Familiarity with population health and analytics platforms (e.g. Innovaccer, Arcadia, Health Catalyst)
- Ability to manage budget spending/forecast through managers to meet functional objectives
- Stakeholder management skills and the ability to define and communicate the data strategy to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Proven understanding of healthcare privacy and security practices Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Expert skills with MS Office Suite of products including Outlook and Teams, with a strong working knowledge of Excel
- You have the ability to work effectively in a primarily remote environment:
- At minimum, a download speed of 25 Mbps and an upload speed of 10 Mbps is required; wired to the house internet (Cable, Fiber, or DSL) and hardwired to the internet device is recommended
- Evergreen will provide Remote or Hybrid Home/Office employees with telephony applications and equipment to meet the business requirements for their position/job
- Team Members must work from a dedicated space lacking ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI / HIPAA information
COMPENSATION
Pay range for this role is $200,000 to $250,000, with exact pay determined based on experience, education, demand for role, geographic location and other role-specific criteria.
