Your Role

As a Senior Accountant, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the financial health of our organization. You will be responsible for complex accounting tasks, ensuring the accuracy of financial records, and providing key financial insights to support strategic decision-making. Your duties will include overseeing financial reporting, assisting with budgets, performing financial analysis including variance analysis, overseeing the organization’s travel vendor, 1099 reporting and compliance, vendor procurement, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations. You will also mentor and supervise junior accounting staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team environment, along with being part of the professional high standard of customer service to other operating and support departments of the organization, and related companies.

Primary Functions for This Role

  • Overseeing the preparation and maintenance of financial statements and reports, ensuring compliance with GAAP and other regulatory requirements.
  • Managing month-end and year-end closing processes, including account reconciliations and journal entries.
  • Conducting in-depth financial analysis and providing insights to senior management to support strategic decision-making.
  • Developing and monitoring budgets, forecasts, and financial plans.
  • Leading and mentoring junior accounting staff, providing guidance and support to enhance their skills and performance.
  • Coordinating with tax and external auditors to ensure successful audit results and compliance.
  • Implementing and maintaining effective internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure the integrity of financial records.
  • Utilizing accounting software and systems to streamline processes and improve efficiency.
  • 1099 reporting and compliance oversight and submission.
  • Vendor procurement experience and oversight.
  • Administration and oversight of the organization’s travel vendor.
  • High attention to detail with Treasury transactions.
  • Transparency in accounting systematic record management for continuity of accounting information.

How You Qualify

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting; CPA or CMA certification, preferred.
  • Proven working experience as a Senior Accountant for 3-5 years.
  • Deep understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and regulatory requirements. Work experience with all general ledger accounts and journal entries and reconciliations of these general ledger accounts.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
  • Hands-on experience with accounting software and advanced proficiency in spreadsheets. NetSuite & Ramp experience, preferred.
  • Experience with Payroll oversight and management.
  • Experience with Treasury, preferred.
  • Excellent professional, internal customer service skills.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
  • High level of integrity, accuracy, tenacity, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment, on a consistent basis.
  • Healthcare accounting experience, preferred.
  • Experience with outside Auditor requests and professional communication with Auditors.
  • 1099 maintenance, preparation, and submission experience.
